What it does
plainlyWhen someone at your company has a working app, getting it live takes one command. The platform figures out what it needs, packages it, starts it, gives it a secure web address, checks its health constantly, and restarts it if it ever crashes. Updating to a new version happens with no downtime. Nobody files a ticket, and nobody buys another monthly subscription.
Underneath, the platform looks after itself too: it notices when one of its own parts is unhealthy and rebuilds it, and its security updates roll through automatically rather than waiting for a maintenance weekend.
The result is the convenient part of "the cloud" — running on hardware you already own, in a building you already pay for, with no meter running.

Who gets to build now
what changedFor most of computing history, getting a custom app meant a project: a budget, a contractor or a development team, and a maintenance question nobody wanted to own. So most workflows never got their app, and the gaps were filled with spreadsheets, group texts, paper — or another software subscription, rented per user, per month, forever, with your records sitting on somebody else's servers and gone the day you stop paying.
AI has quietly changed who can produce working software. The person who actually runs scheduling, or intake, or dispatch — the one who knows every exception because they handle every exception — can now sit down with an AI tool and build the app they have always wanted. Not a mock-up. A working one. And since you're already paying for the AI, renting yet another subscription on top of it defeats the point: build it once, and own it.
What that person cannot build is somewhere sensible to run it.
