One engineer, business hours — said plainly, up front

When something breaks, you reach a person during business hours: 08:00–18:00 Pacific, Monday to Friday, with a first response within two business hours. There is no overnight crew, because there is one engineer. If your business truly needs somebody awake at 2 a.m., you need a bigger firm than this one — and it is better to know that now than during a problem.

What makes one engineer enough is the tooling: AI monitoring that never sleeps watches health, backups, and security bulletins, and prepares each month's updates — the engineer reviews, approves, and responds. The watching is around the clock. The response hours are not.

Server setups rarely go wrong on day one — they drift. Updates get put off, the backup job shows green for eleven months without anyone testing a restore, and running out of space is discovered the day it happens. The monthly agreement keeps a good setup good — and makes "no license cost" honest, because free software only protects businesses where somebody actually applies the updates. You pay for the care, never for permission to run your own systems.

every month

  • Security updates applied in a scheduled window, one server at a time, so your business keeps running — prepared in advance, applied under human review.
  • Health review of your servers and storage: disk wear, error warnings, and anything trending toward trouble.
  • Backup verification by genuinely restoring a real system to an isolated spot. An untested backup is a hope, not a backup.
  • A capacity check projecting when you'll run out of room, with enough reserve that one failed machine never takes you down.
  • New security threats reviewed against the specific software you run.
  • A named engineer to call during business hours when something breaks.
  • A monthly availability report: what ran, what went down and for how long, and what was done about it.

honestly not included

  • After-hours or weekend response.
  • Help-desk support for your staff's day-to-day computer questions.
  • Fixing problems inside your business applications themselves.
  • Administering the Windows or Linux systems running inside the servers.
  • Managing your office network and firewall beyond the servers' own connections.
  • Monitoring your business applications. We watch the infrastructure we manage; your application dashboards are your own — and we'll help you set them up.

Premium — Basic, plus an app platform run for you

02 · the premium plan
monthly $1,500 per platform, under management
setup $6,500 one-time, on your existing hardware

A platform on the same servers we already look after, where an app your staff built with AI goes from "works on someone's laptop" to "real company software" in one step — secured, backed up, kept running, and restarted if it ever crashes. Each app sits behind your own access control, on your own hardware, as an asset you own outright.

The Premium plan is this platform and monthly server care together: $2,200 per month for a three-node cluster and one app-platform foundation — less than the two bought separately. The platform can also be run on its own, at the price above. We run it for ourselves, too — this website lives on it, at console.apps.jaffan.io — and if you're not ready to dedicate hardware, your apps can start on our platform and move to yours later.

Ultimate — Premium, plus one login and a standing plan

03 · the ultimate plan
monthly $3,200 everything in Premium, plus managed sign-in and a quarterly planning session

Ultimate is everything in Premium, plus the two things that keep systems under control rather than merely running: who can reach what, and what happens next.

One login for everything. Each person gets one secure login for everything they're allowed to touch; access is granted and revoked in one place, and there's a written answer to "who can reach what, and why." Kept current month to month — accounts opened when people join, shut off when they leave — instead of a one-time project that drifts.

A quarterly planning session. Once a quarter we go through the trends in the availability reports, what's approaching end of support or capacity, and what next quarter's spending should be — so decisions get made ahead of problems, with real numbers.

Sign-in consolidation is also available as a one-time project attached to any engagement — if it's the itch, ask.

Know where you stand

04 · the starting point, for every plan
price $3,500 fixed, invoiced on delivery
duration 2 weeks from when we get access
you receive 1 report yours to keep and act on

Most owners can't say precisely what their business is running, which of it still gets security updates, or what a compromise would cost. The assessment answers exactly that, then prices the way out: a step-by-step, costed plan to get onto current, supported software, compared honestly against just paying the vendors' subscriptions. If a VMware renewal quote forced the question, the assessment covers that case in full — a realistic, costed alternative changes the conversation with your vendor whether or not you use it.

you receive

  • A complete inventory: every server, every program, who uses each one, and how much it matters to the business.
  • A support register: every piece of software, its version, and when its security updates end — or ended.
  • A map of what depends on what, so nothing gets moved in the wrong order.
  • A three-year cost comparison — staying put, the vendors' subscription path (including any VMware renewal on the table), or supported open-source — using your real numbers, not list prices.
  • A plain verdict on whether moving makes sense, including anything that can't or shouldn't move.
  • A view on whether the app platform is worth it for you.
  • A recommended path: what moves, in what order, and what has to be true before each stage.
  • A sit-down walkthrough with whoever needs to sign off.

not included

  • Negotiating with your software vendors on your behalf.
  • Fixing or tuning your business applications.
  • Any build work. If a move follows, it is scoped and quoted separately.
  • A guaranteed recommendation to switch. If staying put — or paying the subscription — is the right call for you, the report says so.

New servers, designed and built

05 · build work, quoted from the assessment
pricing basis

Fixed price, quoted against the assessment's design. A typical three-node build with migration lands between $12,000 and $20,000.

Designing your new setup, building it, and moving your systems onto it — each one brought up to a current, supported version on the way, not copied over with its problems intact. The design is written down before anything is built, and the build is scripted and documented rather than hand-assembled — so it can be rebuilt, checked, and handed to anyone you hire later. You are never locked in to us; that is deliberate.

included

  • The design: how many servers, how they're sized, and what happens when one fails — decided on paper before money is spent.
  • Storage that keeps your data in multiple copies across machines, with room for a failure to heal itself.
  • Network requirements stated explicitly for your electrician or network vendor.
  • The full build delivered as scripts and documents you own.
  • A proper backup system, with a proven restore before we call it done.
  • The move in careful stages — least critical first, a tested way back at every stage, nothing deleted until its replacement is signed off.
  • Each system brought current as it moves — or replaced with a maintained free alternative where that's the better answer.
  • Handover: operating guides, full documentation, and a working session with your team or IT person.

not included

  • Selling you hardware. We specify what to buy; you buy it through whoever you already trust, and we take no commission.
  • Physical installation, cabling, and rack work.
  • Changes to your business applications themselves.
  • Configuring your office network equipment, unless separately agreed.
